Singer Sydnie Christmas was crowned as the winner of Britain’s Got Talent during the final episode on Sunday 2 June - but fans continue to accuse the final of being a 'fix'. The young singer was a favourite from the beginning after being automatically put through to the semi-finals when Amanda Holden pressed her Golden Buzzer for her.

Sydnie's rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow in Sunday's final saw her steal the show and scoop up the whopping £250,000 cash prize, while also securing a slot to sing at the Royal Variety Performance later this year. "I don't know what to say," she told Declan Donnelly after it was announced. Despite most viewers being pleased for her - some still believe the show was fixed for her to take the crown, and have taken to social media to explain why.

One wrote: “To say this show is fixed is an understatement. She was on last in her semi final and the last act of the final. Who decides the running order? The producers and Simon Cowell. Singers shouldn't be on BGT as they have other reality shows dedicated to singing acts. A big fix!!”

Another added: “An absolute fix and a joke! This series, and its result, brings the entire BGT concept into disrepute. What a farce! There were obviously acts with far more talent who came much lower than her. She performed last, undeservedly praised by the judges, her nans with her- FIX!”

A third commented: “Can't say I liked it. She was on last to dictate voting. All a fix this programme has seen it's day.”

Simon Cowell has been attempting to put these rumours to bed - especially when Sydnie was accused of being a ‘professional’ singer when her previous work on Starlight Express was exposed.

Prior to her win on the night, Simon said: He said on the night: "Winning is important, but, you know, getting into this final and importantly, doing something great, will actually make a difference. You know what was interesting? I worked out, I don't think a single act tonight were professionals. They all had a regular job, yeah, and they did something extraordinary."

It has since been confirmed that during the final, Sydnie took 27% of the public vote after wowing judges Simon Cowell , Amanda Holden , Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli with her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow during the final. While Magician Jack Rhodes, who placed second, had 15.8% of the public vote behind him. Troupe Haribow had the lowest votes of the evening with 3.1%.
