Baggy Shorts and Skirts
For spring 2025, the baggy short and skirt made a significant appearance, enhancing the season’s message of playing with pant volumes. The knee length, or let’s say the “over-the-knee,” voluminous silhouette added an interesting visual and movement effect to sartorial and more casual looks.
Slogan T-shirts
Slogan T-shirts and tops not seen for a decade or so are back on the scene. Some inspired by ‘70’s Vivienne Westwood newspaper graphic prints and others finding humor in imaginative social commentary reminiscent of the early 2000s. An “Imagine a world with no people” T-shirt is kind of priceless.
The Tank Top
It’s no secret we are in the era of the tank top. But forget ‘50’s Hollywood leading men in simple white ripped tops. We are talking about floral printed designs, asymmetric cuts and silky drapy and dressy styles. One thing is for sure: the guns are out!
The Over-the-shoulder Sweater
The over-the-shoulder sweater has been a polarizing styling trick, always related to “Talented Mr. Ripley” followers and preppy style lovers. However, this time around, oversized knits, camouflage printed sweaters, and other graphic jumpers allowed for a new and directional take on this old-school “classic.” Someone in the Hamptons is probably horrified, but this is what Paris is so good at.
Yes, sure there are a lot of influencers dressed by brands outside major shows, but the interest lies on those brave folks that push boundaries and do their own thing. It could be a huge furry hat or that crafts lover who spent hours creating an Eiffel Tower head piece — their bravery pays off often.
