Beyoncé Puts Edgy Spin on Western Dressing in Plunging Vintage Leather Versace Outfit at iHeartRadio Music Awards 2024, Accepts Innovator Award

Beyoncé continued her Western style streak on Monday while accepting the Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles. The superstar songstress dropped her eighth album, “Cowboy Carter,” on Friday, marking her first full-length foray into country music.

Beyoncé opted for a head-to-toe leather ensemble by Versace, which consisted of a plunging shirt jacket and trousers featuring gold hardware and fringe. The pop star added on layered belts, high-heeled boots and Zydo jewelry, completing her outfit with a black cowboy hat adorned with Versace’s trademark Medusa logo. Beyoncé’s vintage look came from the Italian label’s fall 1992 collection.

“Being an innovator often means being criticized, which will often test your mental strength,” Beyoncé said in her acceptance speech. “My hope is that we are more open to the joy and liberation that comes from enjoying art with no preconceived notions.”

Beyoncé revealed the cover art for “Cowboy Carter” last week in a post to her social media accounts. The singer is pictured in a red, white and blue Busted latex ensemble and Paris Texas boots.

“This album has been over five years in the making,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of country music and studied our rich musical archive.”

Beyoncé began incorporating Western wear into her wardrobe with the release of her 2022 album, “Renaissance.” In promotional images for her recent world tour, the pop star sported a mirrored cowboy hat akin to a disco ball. Meanwhile, at the 2024 Grammys, Beyoncé accessorized her Louis Vuitton skirt suit with a Stetson chapeau.
