Britain's Got Talent fans spot 'huge blunder' with singing Batman act The Dark Hero

Britain's Got Talent act The Dark Hero seriously wowed the judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli with his singing, all while suspended in mid-air dressed as Batman.

But the mystery man's show-stopping performance appeared to have raised quite a few questions with viewers afterwards, with many calling out an obvious 'blunder' he'd made.

The Dark Hero - who hasn't yet revealed his real name - took to the stage during Saturday night's episode of the ITV show to perform his own operatic rendition of Wicked's Defying Gravity - and fans have called him out for missing a trick on several fronts.

As one pointed out, the fact he was suspended in mid-air didn't make the best sense - as Batman is one of very few superheroes who cannot fly.

A viewer pointed out on X, formerly known as Twitter: "a friend sent this to me last night and I have not known peace since. WHY the knockoff Batman costume? WHY THIS song for THAT voice?

"WHY pick one of the only superheroes who famously cannot fly to fly? WHY didn’t he call himself Elphabatman?!!", referring to Elphaba, the character who originally performs the song in the hit musical.

Another replied: "my face when all of your questions made sense," while a third chimed in: "All VERY good questions."

But the name of his act isn't the only thing that's got people talking as many were buzzing on social media with theories about his true identity.

One tweeted: "Guessing Batman was dressed up so he didn't speak to hide his identity. Whoever he is that was brilliant and one of my favourite musical theatre songs. #Gravity #BGT."

Another speculated: "Why the f*** would you do opera dressed as Batman unless he is trying to hide his identity as a famous singer. #BGT."

A third chimed in with their own hunch: "Hasn't the guy dressed as batman been on before but as himself and made it through to finals. Is that why he didn't speak so he didn't have to say who he was and they'd know he was on before #bgt."

The variety of the show, according to judge Simon, is what plays a part in the programme's continued success and he hinted at what viewers can look forward to. He also commenting that he "couldn't be happier" with how things are going.

"I watched all the yes tapes back and honestly; it's going to be an amazing show this year. It's just different and it's fun and it's got everything you want from BGT. It's got a heart, great stories, things we'd never seen before, which is important because you don't want to just keep repeating the same thing year on year. So overall, I couldn't be happier," he said.
