Amanda Holden on 'career ending' moment with Abbey and Peter Crouch

Amanda Holden recently joined Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch as a guest star on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, and has now revealed that the appearance could have been 'career-ending' if not edited by the couple's team.

Taking to the stage to present the 2024 Variety Showbusiness Awards in London on Sunday evening, Amanda dubbed Abbey and Peter, who were in the audience, her 'drinking partners' and 'new neighbours'. "I did the podcast with Alan Carr and I am really grateful to Abbey and Peter's family for the editing that went into the final cut, because without it that would have been career ending," laughed Amanda.

Amanda and Alan appeared on the podcast in January, and left listeners in stitches with their revelations. However, it seems there were many more that didn't make the final cut.

Host Amanda looked stunning for the awards ceremony, which raised money for Variety Club, the children's charity and marked 75 years of the charity, which provides support to make a difference to disabled and disadvantaged youngsters.

Arriving in a white gown with a chest cut-out and glimmering silver embellishing, Amanda - who has just returned from a sunny getaway - then swiftly changed into a plunging piece with a black bodice and white skirt to present the show.

Abbey and Peter were honoured at the ceremony with an award for their outstanding contribution to podcasting and sport, only 15 months after beginning the podcast - where they give listeners advice on issues.

Speaking with OK! on the night, Abbey shared her joy at the podcast's success, explaining: "We're just so happy it makes people smile and can help others, that's what we wanted to do. The podcast definitely brings me and Pete closer, we get to air it all out on there and then we can let go when we're done."

Model Abbey donned a glimmering black gown with a cross-over string cut-out, while her husband looked suave in a black turtleneck jumper and suit. Stars such as Sheridan Smith, Dame Joan Collins, James Corden, Bradley Walsh, Kate Garraway and Rochelle and Marvin Humes were also in attendance at the evening.

Abbey and Peter, who married in 2011, not only help out fans with their podcast but also air out their own relationship issues on the show, with Abbey accusing the former footballer of opting to buy presents that are completely the opposite to anything she would like in a recent episode.

Abbey said: "Like you're the only person who can go into Chanel and get it wrong, like you bought me a f***ing bum bag. I'm nearly 40. When am I going to wear a bum bag?" Standing by his choice of gifts, Peter said that with that particular present, he’d seen people sporting the item, suggesting it was a popular trend at the time.
