Looking to take the next step in your career, or simply find a company that pays better?

Finding time to job hunt – especially if you’re working full-time as you do it – can be tricky, so it’s not surprising so many people end up scouring job sites during their lunch breaks.

But according to new research, we should be applying much earlier in the day.

A study by Job Today has found that the ideal time to send a recruiter or company your CV is actually 9am on a Wednesday.

According to its research, 17% of employers post new jobs on a Wednesday and 47% of job hunters are invited for an interview within 24 hours of a job being posted on a Wednesday, too.

The afternoon – 1pm to be exact – is when most people are looking for jobs, so it might be best to get in there ahead of those crowds.

It also found that women are 20% more likely to look for a new position than men in 2018.

Co-founder of Job Today, Polina Montano, told Stylist: “I would always recommend being enthusiastic and start early in the day to look for a role.

“Our insight shows that by lunchtime on Wednesday employers will start to receive a flurry of applications so get in there first and get noticed.”
