Looking for a refreshing, clean and crisp drop for celebrating, but would rather avoid the fuzzy head that booze often brings? Or ditching the booze for Dry Jan but still want to be able to enjoy a glass of bubbles at the end of a long week?

Well, good news. The Good Housekeeping Institute has found the best non-alcoholic champagnes and sparkling wines for toasting life's special moments.

We’ve also tested the best alcohol-free red and white wine, spirits and beers for a fully stocked booze-less bar.

Best non-alcoholic champagnes and sparkling wines 2025

The non-alcoholic market has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with constant innovation meaning that going booze-free is no longer an inferior choice. So, if you're looking for a convincing champagne stand-in, or a “nosecco”, we can reassure you that today's non-alcoholic sparklers are often a dead-ringer for the real deal.

Using the same grapes as you’d find in regular sparkling wine and made in the same way before being de-alcoholised, you’ll sometimes also find the addition of sparkling teas to help create the authentic tannin effect.

There are obvious health benefits to avoiding alcohol or reducing your intake, including improved energy levels, better sleep and clearer skin, while non-alcoholic sparkling wine also has fewer calories per glass than a higher ABV alternative.

So, whether you want to make the switch permanently, or just want to cut back, we’re confident these are the best bottles to celebrate with.

How we test non-alcoholic champagnes and sparkling wines

Our panel of WSET trained experts and consumers sipped their way through 166 alcohol-free sparkling wines, to find their favourites.

Each was blinded to avoid bias, and judged on its aroma, flavour, mouthfeel and ability to pair with food. Read on to find which are worthy of charging your glass with...cheers!

In second place is Opia’s organic fizz, which impressed our panel due to its “creamy and elegant” profile. On the nose there’s sweet and summery jasmine, elderflower, peaches and vanilla, which is reflected on the palate, along with a touch of cream and sweet, juicy peach. A perfectly refreshing non-alc option, which is best served ice cold.

Le Blanc 0%

Score: 78/100

At £32.50 a bottle, French Bloom is positioned as one of the most premium non-alcoholic wines on the market. To justify the price tag, it’s made with organic French chardonnay grapes, to mimic a blanc de blanc champagne, and displays notes of honeysuckle, melon and elderflower. There’s plenty of juicy stone fruit too, alongside tropical mango and lychee, however the sweetness is beautifully balanced with zippy lemon acidity.

All in all, we think it’s a very elegant gift for those not drinking.
