Ben & Jerry’s has never been shy about its commitment to activism. Making the world a better place is quite literally one of the main prongs in its mission statement.

Not only does the Vermont-based company put its money where its mouth is by partnering with and donating to multiple organizations and charities, but it also takes it one step further. Ben and Jerry use their ice cream expertise to create a delicious way for consumers to get in on the activism.

We all know about Ben & Jerry’s Americone Dream flavor with Stephen Colbert or The Tonight Dough with Jimmy Fallon. But, did you know that buying those ice creams gives back to a charity of the late-night show host’s choosing?

And, as much as Ben & Jerry’s is making a difference in fair trade and non-GMO standards, its other priorities hit closer to home: democracy, climate change, LGBTQ+ rights, and racial injustice. With the 2024 election quickly approaching, the fan-favorite ice cream brand has made it its mission to empower voters with its new Churn Out the Vote! flavor.

The new limited-batch pint is made with fudge chunks, pretzel swirls, and chocolate mousse in a vanilla base. It’s hitting all Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops now and will soon be available as pints for a limited time in retailers nationwide.

Churn Out the Vote is made in partnership with Black Voters Matter (BVM), whose goal is to engage voters in predominantly Black communities to cast a ballot and “have their voices heard loud and clear,” according to Ben & Jerry's.

This is Ben & Jerry’s fourth year supporting BVM—and its second flavor with the organization. In 2022, Ben & Jerry’s rebranded its cold brew coffee ice cream flavor Change is Brewing, which is made from BLK & Bold coffee, to encourage voter participation.

Much like the rebranded Change is Brewing pint, which features voters casting their ballots, Churn Out the Vote’s packaging showcases the iconic Ben & Jerry’s cow in a voting booth on Nov. 5.

From now through Election Day, Churn Out the Vote will be available with a portion of the proceeds donated to BVM.
