BBC EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy shares heartbreaking tribute to late dad: 'I miss him so much'

EastEnders' Natalie Cassidy has shared a touching tribute to her late father, Charles, marking three years since his passing. Posting an sweet throwback picture with her dad, Natalie wrote: "I lost my daddy 3 years ago today. It's just another day, but everything seems heightened somehow."

The 40 year old mum-of-two went on to share her feelings of pride and happiness, alongside the sadness of missing her dad, writing: "I'm feeling very proud of myself and very happy and cry tears because I miss him so much not because I'm sad. And grief doesn't start and stop on tap. It's always with you but you learn to smile through it, even laugh and move on with your life. You'd be proud dad."

The heartfelt post resonated with many fans who had also experienced loss and found comfort in Natalie's words. In a previous heartrending confession last year, Natalie revealed that she still "talks to" her father each day and keeps his ashes on her windowsill.

Charles passed away in April 2021, but Natalie ensures his memory is kept alive. Her mum passed away when she was just 19, which made her bond with her dad even stronger, leading to Charles living with Natalie and her family during his final years.

Natalie has transformed her dad's room into a special area for the family to spend quality time together, and she keeps his ashes on her living room windowsill where she enjoys having a chat with him.

Speaking to OK!, she shared: "I know it might be a bit morbid for some people but he sits on the windowsill and I like to have a chat with him."

Natalie, her fiancé Marc Humphreys, and her two daughters, Eliza and Joanie, moved into their current home five years ago, with Charles joining them. Discussing living with her dad, she revealed: "My dad was with us because his health started to deteriorate and I didn't want him to be living on his own any more. I decided to bite the bullet and find somewhere with an annexe, so that Dad was still with us, but could also be independent and have his own space."

Charles battled multiple health issues before his passing, and Natalie confessed she had a sense when his end was near. The soap star admitted she had a "gut feeling" that he would pass away soon and within a week, he had died with his cherished daughter by his side.
