Did Nicole Kidman cut up her Oscars dress?

Nicole Kidman was by far one of the best dressed stars of the 2017 Oscars, appearing in a nude embellished gown by Armani Privé.

Although the actresses dress was custom-made for her and her alone, it appears that the design wasn’t the most comfortable.

While posing on the red carpet, Nicole’s skin looked blotchy around the neckline of the dress, suggesting that it was far too tight.

Clearly not one for discomfort, the 49-year-old (or her stylist) did some DIY on the mega-expensive design, turning the crisscrossed straps into a looser halterneck style.

Bespoke looks should fit stars perfectly but this isn’t the first time celebrities have been open about the pain caused by couture ensembles.

Naomie Harris revealed that she was “very glad to get out” of her Golden Globes gown, commenting: “It was like a corset, I could barely breathe.” Coincidentally, Naomie’s dress was also by Armani Privé.

Similarly at the Oscars, Chrissy Teigen’s first words about her angelic Zuhair Murad look were “it’s very tight.”
