Naomie Harris reveals the uncomfortable truth behind red carpet gowns
Attending a paparazzi-filled awards ceremony sounds like fun, doesn’t it? Well, not according to actress Naomie Harris who revealed the practicalities (or impracticalities) of wearing mega-expensive gowns.
For this year’s Golden Globes, the 40-year-old star donned a silvery fitted gown by Armani Privé. Although the strapless embellished design would be a dream come true for many, Naomie admitted on today’s episode of Lorraine that she “was very glad to get out of it.”
“It was like a corset, I could barely breathe! I wasn’t allowed to eat or drink from 12 o’clock as I couldn’t go to the toilet. I got carried to the car by the man who made that dress and he lay me flat so I wouldn’t crease it.”
Fans had already played witness to the car debacle after Naomie posted a truthful Instagram detailing her getting ready process.
The actress sadly didn’t win an award on the night (not that she could have celebrated much). However, today’s Oscar nominations revealed that she is up for the Supporting Actress award for her role in Moonlight.
The 89th Academy Awards will be broadcast across the world on 29 February. Let’s hope Naomie can find a more comfortable dress for the occasion.
