Ant Mcpartlin's ex-wife Lisa Armstrong in rare show of support after end of Saturday Night Takeaway

Lisa Armstrong, Ant McPartlin's ex-wife, showed a rare display of support for the presenter during the final episode of Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend. The popular family entertainment show, hosted by Ant and his best pal Declan Donnelly, has been a staple on our screens for over two decades.

The last episode was packed with surprises and special guests like Simon Cowell and Holly Willoughby, ending with an emotional farewell from the beloved duo. Fans flooded social media with messages of congratulations and appreciation, including a surprising show of support from Ant's former wife, Lisa.

The makeup artist liked a post that hailed the pair as 'simply the best' in celebration of their impressive TV journey. Lisa placed a 'like' on the post which showed Ant and Dec and read: "After 20 years this amazing show is coming to an end it's been a real joy and pleasure to have been there from the beginning, and in my 30-year career in showbiz I've worked with some brilliant people but these two are simply the best! Great friendships and memories made."

Lisa was once a key part of Ant and Dec's close-knit circle, having been with Ant for 23 years and married to him for 11. She also had a strong bond with Dec, who was the best man at their wedding in 2006.

Lisa, who worked on Britain's Got Talent for many years before her split from Ant, shares many friends with the duo within the ITV network.

Ant and Lisa's split shocked the showbiz world when it was announced in 2018, just eight months after Ant left rehab. Celebrity makeup artist Lisa had loyally stood by the TV star when his career was rocked by a drug addiction scandal.

A representative said in a statement at the time: "Ant is very sad to announce that, after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin. Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families."

It came as a surprise, with Ant previously denying rumours of a troubled relationship before his first rehab stint in 2017. He said: "I've put Lisa through hell with mood swings and depression and how it affects you. I'm very sorry about the effect it has on partners."

A year after his split from Lisa, Ant's relationship with his personal assistant Anne-Marie came to light.

Lisa took to Twitter to reveal that she found out about the new couple through the newspapers just like everyone else, accusing the mother-of-two of breaking 'girl code'. Anne-Marie had previously worked for the married couple for six years and even organised their 10th wedding anniversary party in 2016.

In October 2018, Ant and Lisa were granted a decree nisi in a hearing that lasted less than 30 seconds. According to the documents, Lisa filed for divorce because he became 'intolerable to live with'.
