Ant McPartlin’s ex Lisa Armstrong shares cryptic post about ‘silent battles’ – as he welcomes first child
Ant McPartlin's ex, Lisa Armstrong, has posted a poignant message online – amid the TV star's baby announcement this week. The Britain's Got Talent presenter and his wife Anne-Marie Corbett were overjoyed on Tuesday, 14 May, as they revealed the birth of their son Wilder Patrick McPartlin.
The couple, who wed in 2021, took to Instagram to share the news, posting an adorable black and white snap of Ant cradling the newborn. They expressed their happiness in the caption: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy's a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad's a mess."
While friends and fans have been showering the new parents with love, Lisa, 47, took to her Instagram stories with a cryptic quote amidst the celebrations. It read: "Be proud of how you have been handling these past few months. The silent battles you've fought, the moments you've had to humble yourself, the times you've wiped your own tears. Celebrate your strength."
Lisa and Ant ended their marriage six years ago after being together for over two decades. Their split followed shortly after Ant faced personal struggles, including issues with alcohol and prescription drugs and a highly publicised drink-driving charge in 2018. He then began a relationship with Anne-Marie, tying the knot with her in 2021.
Though Lisa has weathered some tough times recently, it seems she is ready for a new beginning, an insider recently shared with OK!. They revealed that Lisa has done "a lot of healing over the past few years" and she's working to get herself to a "good place".
The source claimed: "Lisa knows Ant is ready to move on with the next chapter of his life - she doesn't want to be angry anymore."
"She's done a lot of healing over the past few years and spent so much time being upset and angry about everything. It has been exhausting but she has done a lot of work on herself. It seems everyone is having a fresh start with the end of the show and Ant's new chapter in his life, so Lisa wants to make sure she's in a good place."
It seems both Lisa and Ant are turning the page on their acrimonious split as she recently supported him prior to his and Declan Donnelly's final Saturday Night Takeaway show. Lisa showed her approval for a post praising Ant and Dec as simply the best in the world of entertainment.
Lisa liked a post featuring Ant and Dec which read: "After 20 years this amazing show is coming to an end it's been a real joy and pleasure to have been there from the beginning, and in my 30-year career in showbiz I've worked with some brilliant people but these two are simply the best! Great friendships and memories made."
After her split with Ant, Lisa found happiness again in 2020 with new beau James Green. Sadly, the couple parted ways last year.
