Amy Adams reveals real reason for not wearing makeup in public
While we’re accustomed to seeing award-winning actress Amy Adams dazzling on the red carpet with her signature red hair perfectly styled and her makeup flawlessly polished, at home she paints a very different picture.
Speaking with PEOPLE Magazine, the American actress– who's latest movie is Nightbitch, a dark comedic depiction of Motherhood – spoke about her previous decision not to wear makeup in public. The interesting reason for this? It came at the request of her daughter, Aviana.
Reflecting on her daughter's childhood, the 50-year-old recalls Aviana asking her to embrace a more natural look. 'She didn't like me wearing makeup,' Adams revealed, before adding, 'She's like, "I just want you to look like Mum, not like Amy Adams."
'And I was like, "You got it." So there were years when I didn't wear makeup wherever we went. I mean, I sneaked some mascara. But yeah, I wouldn't wear makeup because she wanted me to be just mum.'
Fast-forward a few years to the present day, Adams has revealed that her now 14-year-old daughter's thoughts on her mum's presentation have shifted somewhat. 'I'm usually the least manicured at my household [...] But lately, per my daughter's request, I'm working on an upgrade.'
'She's like, "You can't wear workout clothes if you're not working out, Mum, you can't just do the leisure part of athleisure."'
