Alesha Dixon celebrates 40th birthday with swimwear shoot
Alesha Dixon kick-started her 40th birthday celebrations with a swimwear shoot to “capture the essence of feeling strong and alive”.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge admitted via the social media platform that the month leading up to the big day was “emotionally challenging” but she has since learned to be more excited for the future.
She took to Instagram to upload a sneak preview of the swimsuit editorial with the candid caption [sic]: “I did a shoot 2 days before my 40th birthday to capture the essence of feeling Strong & Alive, not depressed & old!”

“The month leading up to my birthday was emotionally challenging for many reasons but I have to say, now that I have turned this momentous corner I feel amazing! I am relaxed and excited for the future!” the former Mis-Teeq singer wrote.
“Changing the stigmas and perceptions in my OWN mind first and foremost was very important, thinking of those less fortunate and those that weren’t lucky enough to see a 40th birthday too. We have to be Present and Mindful to Truly Embrace our Blessings. I Count Mine Everyday!”
In the image, Dixon is photographed lunging in a khaki-hued thigh-cut swimsuit with gold jewellery to finish the look.
Unsurprisingly, fans promptly took to the post to praise the television judge for her refreshingly honest post.

One wrote, “You could not have put it any better, congratulations on being so successful in every way #keeppushingforward, it’s the only way.”
Another added: “Yes to this! I turn 40 next year and hope to feel this way!”
While a large number of her followers took to the post with praise hand emojis aplenty to share their disbelief at her age.
“There’s no way possible you are 40, you don’t look a day over 25 babe,” one wrote.
While another commented: “You look amazing. I had no idea you turned 40! I understand the emotion surrounding turning ‘that age’ – I’m almost there myself. However, I truly believe that we have to disregard the number and focus on nourishing our mind, body and spirit.”
