Davina McCall is proud of her fitness-honed body and she isn’t afraid to show it off.
The 50-year-old TV presenter took to Instagram to share a bikini selfie to her 890K followers.
Posing in a J Crew, floral two-piece bikini, the mum-of-three accompanied the snapshot with an empowering body positive message.
Hi. It is the beginning of the summer . And this is a 👙 selfie. And it probably won’t be the last . No apologies. Because I cannot quite believe I am posting pictures of myself in bikinis still 😃I get asked all the time how many times I work out a week 💪🏻. 3 times minimum … 4 ideally.. 45 mins to an hour . Can’t run at the mo so I do a mixture strength and cardio … i have so much to be grateful for… my kids are number one but right behind them at no 2 is how my fitness journey has made me feel . If I’m groggy, sluggish, negative it always sorts me out … if you are starting … start slow.. set small goals.. achievable goals.. you will get to where you want to be. I did. And if I did. Going on to reveal that she works out “ideally” four times a week for 45 minutes to an hour, doing a mixture of strength training and cardio, the TV personality also opened up about the impact her fitness regime has had on her mental health.
“If I’m groggy, sluggish, negative it always sorts me out,” she said.
The TV star has been charting her fitness journey on social media, sharing selfies in the studio as well as video clips of her routines.
And she had some words of advice for other users who might be looking to kickstart their own fitness journey.
“If you are starting … start slow.. set small goals.. achievable goals.. you will get to where you want,” she said.
“I did. And if I did(after years of yo-yo dieting and binge exercise) You can.”

And Davina fans were quick to step in and offer their comments on her powerful post with many praising the presenter for providing some inspo.
“You look phenomenal keep posting these selfies, you must work so hard to maintain this type of conditioning, well done,” one user wrote.
“I love this, so true, I am 49 and have had my life changed over 3 years with exercise and diet,” another added.
“You Rock Davina! Please let your inspiration rapidly boot me up the backside. Start slow……,” another fan added.
Unsurprisingly though, the body shamers also had something to say about Davina’s bikini selfie with some accusing the presenter of being too thin.
“Is it any wonder so many young girls end up with eating disorders, plus it’s extremely ageing, not a good look at all,” one user penned.
“NOT a very good example for anyone in anyway shape or form. Far too thin. But it’s your body,” added another.

But other fans of the ‘Million pound drop’ presenter were quick to jump to her defence pointing out that the star was fit and healthy, and used fitness as a way of improving her mental wellbeing.
“You look amazing! Those who comment she looks too skinny have no clue what skinny looks like. She is fit and athletic looking woman. Superb looking for her age! Great job Davina!” one fan wrote.
“If you read her status properly you’ll see she works out because of how it makes her feel and looking good is the bonus , your health is your wealth and its not just your physical health but mental as well,” another fan added.
“Body shaming keyboard warriors @davinamccall you look hot hot hot!!!! And fabulous that you are so fit, toned and body confident after having children – you’re an inspiration!” yet another fan commented.
Davina is just one of the growing number of women celebrating their bodies. Last August, ex-British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman posted an honest bikini selfie, leading to lots of women calling her ‘brave’.
And earlier this year 53-year-old Brooke Shields reclaimed her beach babe status by sharing photos from her tropical vacation on Instagram looking absolutely stunning.
