An analysis of global fashion trends has ranked the adidas Continental 80 trainers, £74.95, the hottest trainers to wear right now.

The Lyst Index analyses the online shopping behaviours of more than 9 million online shoppers to come up with the most comprehensive look at what items we’re buying.

The shoes, which come in 36 different colours, were the only trainers to make it into the top 10 hottest products for this quarter of the year.

Searches of the coveted shoes have risen by 170% this quarter after being worn by the likes of Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Sofia Richie.

The shoes came in third place behind the Jacquemus Le Chiquito mini bag in second and Bottega Veneta’s padded sandals in first.

Jacquemus’ rise was helped by its S/S 2020 show being held in the lavender fields of Provence. The dreamy location went viral on social media, no doubt bolstering attention for the mini bag.

As most avid Fashion Week followers will know, Bottega Veneta’s £615 sandals lined the front rows across the world. The brand, with its new creative director, Daniel Lee at the helm, became influencer’s designer of choice this summer.

It entered the top 20 hottest brands list for the first time ever this year, climbing 21 places.

In the second quarter of the year, Topshop’s more affordable strippy sandals came in 6th place. Their barely-there heels and vintage vibe aren’t a million miles away from Bottega Veneta’s pricier alternatives.

The rise in adidas’ popularity may be down to Beyoncé. Since her partnership with adidas in April, it has seen a huge rise in online searches for the brand.

Who run the world? Beyoncé, apparently.
