Abbey Clancy details Peter Crouch's very inappropriate message to her mum

Peter Crouch has revealed that he once sent an inappropriate message intended to wife Abbey Clancey to her mum instead, leaving the footballer red-faced over the blunder.

The sportsman and his model wife detailed the hilarious story during a recent episode of their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, where they share their own marital issues and help listeners with theirs. During a segment where they answered fans' dilemmas, one listener wrote in asking: “Hey have you guys ever texted a person you were actually talking about by mistake, and how did you fix it?"

Thinking back, Abbey recalled screenshotting a text and sending it to the same person by accident, while Peter admitted he had sent messages into the wrong group chat.

Peter then turned to Abbey and questioned: "Do you remember when I sent your mum a sexual message? That was horrendous."

Remembering the incident immediately, Abbey exclaimed: “He was sexting my mum!”. Further explaining what went on, a red-faced Peter confessed that he used some suggestive emojis: “The beaver emoji sent straight to her mum, that was highly embarrassing wasn’t it? That was early on (in our relationship) as well.”

“That was a Freudian slip wasn’t it," replied Abbey. Awkwardly drawing the conversation to a close, Peter laughed: “Let’s move on. I was meant to text you, but I text your mum."

Peter Crouch has recalled the embarrassing moment he accidentally sent a saucy message to his mother-in-law rather than wife Abbey Clancey, admitting the ordeal was 'horrendous'

Since beginning their smash hit podcast last year, Peter and Abbey have been open and honest about the highs and lows of their 13-year-marriage, giving an insight into their rows.

Recently, the pair told fans that the Peter ‘punishes’ Abbey after a fall-out. The former model explained: “If we go to bed not speaking, Pete puts pyjamas on. I’m delighted. I’m like ‘yes’. I actually call them ‘the punishment pyjamas’ because it’s like I’m not allowed to see his naked body as punishment. It’s so funny.”

And it seems being so open about their issues is actually a sign of love, as a source recently told OK! that talking about their spats only shows how passionate Abbey and Pete's relationship is and just how much they care about each other.

“Abby and Peter are such a great couple. Yes, they do have these furious, fiery rows as we saw when they discussed them in their recent podcast, they're very open about that.

They do row, but what married couple doesn't? It's clearly part of the dynamic of their relationship - and sometimes rows can be a good thing, especially when you can have a sense of humour like these two do.”
