This £45 M&S midi dress is top of our new season wishlist
Marks & Spencer is always a reliable place to shop for affordable new-season pieces that will fit easily into our capsule wardrobes. And, while scrolling the high street retailer's latest new-in drop, we couldn't help but add the brand's latest £45 midi dress straight to the top of our wish list.
The midaxi – with a hemline that sits between a midi and a maxi ending just above the ankle but lower than the mid-calf – is fashion-editor approved. In fact, Red fashion editor Jodie Dunworth thinks it's one of the best occasionwear pieces for the new season, and we couldn't agree more.
Crafted from a lightweight organza fabric that feels delicate on the skin, it features an all-over oversized polka dot print design for a timeless and elegant look. Our favourite part? Those short puff sleeves that instantly elevate this dress and add a romantic feel.
And, while this midaxi would make a great garden party outfit or wedding guest dress (if a print with an ivory base is bride-approved) it can also easily be dressed down. If you're going for a more casual, Saturday brunch look, pair with box-fresh white trainers and a trench coat. For a spring/summer occasion, embrace the ballet flats revival or team with statement platform heels.
