Zoe Kravitz frees the nip by going braless in a see-through tank top
Florence Pugh is largely credited with sparking the modern-day free-the-nip movement after she wowed in a hot pink Valentino totally see-through dress to attend the Italian fashion house's autumn winter 22/23 show. And, while Flo definitely deserves her dues, the trend can actually be tracked waaayyyyy further back than that. Specifically to the '90s when Jennifer Aniston's Friends character Rachel Green made prominent nipples her sartorial signature long before freeing the nipple was even a thing.
Whether she was wearing a simple white tee or a lace-trimmed tank top (a go-to '90s basic), the actress' nipples were often clearly visible through her clothing, becoming legendary in the process. So much so, they're still a source of fashion inspo 20 years after the iconic sitcom ended. At least, we're assuming it was Rachel Green who inspired Zoe Kravitz's most recent look...
Zoe is currently in the midst of promoting her directorial debut, Blink Twice, (which FYI stars her fiancé Channing Tatum) and was seen stepping out in New York last night [Wednesday 21 August] going braless in a *very* see-through tank top. Constructed from a sheer fabric and featuring a plunging neckline, the beige tank clearly showed her nipples. She paired the top with a black textured striped pattern maxi skirt that was also sheer, though did have a mini-length underlining.
Zoe later added a black blazer to her look, with black pumps completing the minimal 'fit. As for her beauty look, she pulled her long dark hair up into a slicked-back bun and opted for natural glowy makeup.
The outing follows the European premiere of Blink Twice in London a few days ago [Monday 19 August] where Zoe again ditched her bra.
Wearing a Saint Laurent red satin belted slip dress, the actress and director again flashed her nipples in the slinky design that nailed one of the year's biggest colour trends.
Given Zoe's penchant for simple, no fuss, '90s styling, perhaps it's no wonder she's looking to one of the decade's biggest style icons. Either way, there's no denying we're loving all her looks rn!
