Zoe Ball shares daughter's injury after Christmas tree mishap
Zoe Ball has revealed that her daughter was taken to A&E after an unfortunate encounter with a Christmas tree.
During her Radio 2 breakfast show on Wednesday morning (11 December), Ball shared that her daughter's father had accidentally dropped a Christmas tree on her foot, resulting in some swelling and a swift trip to the hospital.
"Sending love to my Nell today," she shared. "It was supposed to be her last day of school today. But sadly her dad unintentionally dropped a Christmas Tree on her foot and she had to go to A&E yesterday."
Ball continued: "She had an X-ray but it's okay, it's just swollen. She's going to be alright, but she was supposed to go ice skating with her friends from school today but she won't be able to get her foot in a boot. The things you don't think are going to happen!
"He's obviously very apologetic, poor love. This happens doesn't it. Bless her! What a story to tell though, so I'm sending her lots of love this morning."
Last month, it was confirmed that Ball is stepping down from the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show after six years.
The broadcaster's last show will air on December 20, with Scott Mills set to take over in 2025 as part of wider Radio 2 schedule changes. However, Ball will stay with the station, with news on her future projects to be announced in the New Year.
"After six years of fun times alongside you all on the Breakfast Show, I've decided it's time to step away from the early alarm call and start a new chapter," Ball confirmed during her show last month.
Ball added that she will miss the listeners, her "amazing Prod Squad" and her colleagues, but not "the 4am alarm call".
