Xena’s Lucy Lawless condemns Hercules star Kevin Sorbo for spreading Capitol riot Antifa conspiracies
Xena: Warrior Princess actor Lucy Lawless has condemned her former co-star Kevin Sorbo for “enabling” the Capitol rioters, alleging that they did his “evil bidding”.
Sorbo, who portrayed Hercules on the Nineties series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, is a prolific Donald Trump supporter.
On Wednesday (6 January), Sorbo falsely claimed that the individuals who stormed Washington’s Capitol building in an attempt to stop the certification of Joe Biden’s presidency were anti-fascists in disguise as Trump supporters.
In another tweet, Sorbo posted a photograph of several of the rioters along with the caption: “They don’t look like patriots to me…”
Lawless, whose Xena series was a spin-off from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, replied: “No, Peanut. They are not patriots. They are your flying monkeys, homegrown terrorists, QAnon actors. They are the douchebags that go out and do the evil bidding of people like you who like to wind them up like toys and let them do their worst.”
Lawless added two hashtags to the tweet: “#KeepingYourFilthyHandsClean” and “#Enabler.”
Sorbo has yet to respond to Lawless’s tweet.
The Independent has reached out to Sorbo for comment.

The assault on the Capitol building on Tuesday resulted in five deaths, while government officials were quickly evacuated from the Senate Chambers. Trump initially appeared to support those taking part in the siege, calling them “very special” in a video tweeted during the riot, adding “we love you”.
On Thursday (8 December), during a video in which he finally conceded the presidential election, Trump said that the rioters had “defied the seat of democracy”.
