Women Don’t Care About Sports, Apparently

According to some people, women are incapable of independent thought and all like and dislike exactly the same things.

NBC has implied this is so, anyway, as the company’s chief marketing officer John Miller has basically said that women don’t like sport.

Last month, Miller explained why there was a one-hour delay on the opening ceremony broadcast.

According to ELLE, Miller said: “The people who watch the Olympics are not particularly sports fans.

“More women watch the games than men, and for the women, they’re less interested in the result and more interested in the journey.”

Ouch. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he went on to say: “It’s sort of like the ultimate reality show and miniseries wrapped into one.

“And, to tell the truth, it has been the complaint of a few sports writers. It has not been the complaint of the vast viewing public.”

Well, you know women; if TV isn’t in the form of a reality show we simply can’t comprehend what is going on.

And obviously, sports fans are not happy about the comments.

Justice prevailed, however: The American network only pulled in 30 million viewers for the ceremony, compared to 40.7 million who watched the London 2012 opening ceremony.

Unlucky, that.
