Woman who wore a bath puff as a fascinator is a hero of our generation

Just the other week, Meghan Markle was mocked for wearing a Marks and Spencer fascinator that some compared to a bath puff.

Well don’t laugh too soon, because it appears Meghan may have been on to something. Just ask Lilian Smith from Preston.

Lilian wrote to a magazine explaining that she found herself stressed before a recent party, where she couldn’t find a hat to wear in her desired colour.

“I couldn’t find a hat or fascinator in the colour I liked for an upcoming party,” she explained. “But I still wanted something fetching to wear in my hair.”

But instead of choosing to change the colour of her outfit, or forgoing a hat altogether, Lilian’s got creative.

“Seeing a bath puff in the exact shade I was looking for gave me an idea,” she said. “I attached it to a hair clip and put it in my hair.”

Bath puffs aren’t the first thing you’d associate with formal headwear but we think you can agree Lilian pulled it off perfectly.

“It matched my outfit perfectly and looked great!” she said of her DIY job.

Genius – and we weren’t the only ones to think so.

Can we get this woman knighted?
