Prince William and Kate revisit university haunts as they enjoy harbourside fish and chips

Prince William and Kate have revisited some of their old university haunts as they enjoyed a fish and chip lunch on the harbour at their favourite takeaway from their student days.
The royal couple was spotted picking up lunch at Anstruther Fish Bar in Fife on Wednesday 26 May in between their engagements around St Andrews, where they first met 20 years ago.
They delighted locals as they enjoyed their food sat by the harbour, with Kate telling staff at the fish bar they were enjoying the "trip down memory lane".
Irene Bett, who lives in the town, shared pictures online, adding: "Prince William and Kate visited Anster today for a fish supper - sitting down the pier and a wee walk along Shore Street. They stopped to chat to us on the way for their cone."
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also spotted by Robert and Catriona Nee who run the Brackness House bed and breakfast - where the royals parked their helicopter just outside.

The Nees shared: "Great to see William & Kate, The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, enjoying themselves back in Anstruther again today.
"They were so relaxed and looked just like locals as they wandered around the town and of course taking in a tasty fish supper from the worlds best Anstruther Fish Bar (just as they did regularly when they were both students in St. Andrews).
"They could’ve stayed the night with us too, but unfortunately we are full!
"Hopefully next time.... It’s definitely handy for parking anyway, as their helicopter was parked just in front of the house!"

After their chippy lunch, William and Kate went back for an ice cream and a chat to the staff.
It's at least their second date while in Scotland, as they also went to a restaurant in St Andrews on Tuesday night for a private dinner.
William and Kate met in 2001 while both freshers at St Andrews University. They lived a few doors down from each other and became friends.
It's thought they started to date around Christmas 2003, after living together with other friends in a shared house in their second year.

Sharing some of their pictures on Facebook, the team at the fish bar wrote: "We can hardly believe it’s almost 20 years since we last had the honour of frying up some Scottish haddock and chips for, our then regular customers, Prince William and Catherine Middleton, while they were students at St Andrews University.
"Fast-forward to this afternoon and you can imagine our excitement when we had the privilege of welcoming back the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (or, to give them their official Scottish titles... The Earl and Countess of Strathearn) to Anstruther Fish Bar.
"Their Royal Highnesses have been in the East Neuk of Fife today and surprised us by ending their visit with a takeaway fish supper, which the Duchess told us, was a lovely 'trip down memory lane'. They enjoyed the whole takeaway experience, as most visitors to Anstruther do, sitting on a bench by the harbour, while no doubt keeping a watchful eye out for the local, hungry seagulls!
"Before heading back to their waiting helicopter, they popped in for some ice cream and to chat with some of our thrilled staff. The Duke thanked us for the fish and chips and made a point on telling Andrew that they were just as good, if not better than he remembered from his student days.
"We hope Their Royal Highnesses enjoyed a lovely day reminiscing here in the East Neuk of Fife. We know our team and hundreds of others certainly loved getting the chance to meet them both today."

While back in their old stomping ground, William and Kate tried out land yachting with a group of teenage carers who were having a respite session from their busy lives looking after family members.
The couple took to the sport quickly and raced each other along the beach, with William heard shouting "wahoo".
After the beach session they went to the university, where they met History of Art and Geography students, reflecting the couple's eventual degrees. William switched to Geography while Kate carried on with History of Art.
In the evening they hosted NHS workers at the Palace of Holyroodhouse where they held the first drive-in cinema at the Queen's official Scottish residence.
A group of hard working NHS staff were able to see the new Cruella film two days before it's released in cinemas, and were given popcorn by the attentive duke and duchess.
William and Kate's trip to Scotland enters its last day on Thursday.
