There's cause for celebration, as season two of Prime Video's The Wilds finally dropped on the platform last week (6th May). Hooray! If you were a fan of series one (course you were) then chances are you've spent the past five days binge-watching the whole thing. And now, fans are naturally asking about a potential season three - with some of The Wilds' cast members even chiming in to share their hopes for a third series.

To recap, season two dived straight back into the story of a group of teenage girls left stranded on an island following a plane crash. However, as teased at the end of season one, S2 introduced us to a second group of boys also stranded and being watched in the elaborate social experiment.

As for a potential series three, there's plenty more that could go down, so here's everything we know so far...

Has The Wilds season 3 been confirmed?

Sadly not just yet, but we've got everything crossed! Season two was initially announced a week after season one dropped, so there's still time for a third series to be announced. Either way, the cast have already been speculating on what could happen in a future season. So here's hoping!

What have the cast said about The Wilds season 3?

It seems like the cast of The Wilds are *just* as keen for a third series as we are. During an interview with People, Zack Calderon (who plays Rafael) shared his hopes for another instalment. He told the publication, "I think we've made something really, really beautiful. And in terms of what to do for season three, only time will tell. But if it's anything like season two, we're in for a big old surprise."

Sounds exciting, then!

Meanwhile, actress Sophia Ali (who plays Fatin) revealed what she wants to happen for the characters - referring to the boys' and girls' groups being mixed. She explained, "I want to see everyone progress farther than what they already have, and I feel like coming back together and making it more normal to society is almost going to reverse everyone for a second and they're all going to go back to who they used to be and not really know how to act with survival at the forefront in that environment with men around now."

Who might star in The Wilds season 3?

If S3 does go ahead, we'd expect all the characters surviving at the end of season two to return.

That means returning cast members should include: Sophia Ali (Fatin), Shannon Berry (Dot), Jenna Clause (Martha), Reign Edwards (Rachel), Mia Healey (Shelby), Erana James (Toni), and Sarah Pidgeon (Leah).

As for the boys, the actors coming back should be: Charles Alexander (Kirin), Zack Calderon (Rafael), Nicholas Coombe (Josh), Miles Gutierrez-Riley (Ivan), Aidan Laprete (Henry), Tanner Ray Rook (Bo) and Reed Shannon (Scotty).

Though Nora was presumed to have drowned, we later discover she actually survived, meaning Helena Howard would also be likely to return.

When could we expect The Wilds season 3 to be released?

We'll have to wait on confirmation of series three before hearing about a release date. Season one dropped in December 2020, with season two arriving a year and a half later in May 2022. So, if season three is confirmed soon, we could expect it to drop in autumn or winter 2023.

Of course, pandemic delays may have played a part in the production of season two, so there's always a chance a third season could come out sooner!

The Wilds seasons one and two are streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.
