There’s another good reason Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler weren’t at the 2025 Golden Globes together: they had privately broken up. Sources 'with direct knowledge' told TMZ that the model and actor split 'around the end of 2024.' The insiders said that there was no drama. 'The relationship just simply ran its course after a good three years together,' the outlet wrote.
Gerber and Butler were last seen together in October.

They were first romantically linked in December 2021. Neither of them spoke extensively about their relationship in interviews. In February 2024, Gerber told WSJ magazine that she prefers keeping her life with Butler to herself. 'Honestly, I feel like so few things in my life are private, and that is one of the things that I try to keep as sacred as possible,' she said.
In May 2022, Butler made his disinterest in talking about Gerber known to GQ. He was asked about his then-girlfriend and told the outlet, 'I don’t think there’s anything I want to share about that. But thank you for providing the space.'
Butler did offer a little praise of Gerber’s British Vogue cover in February 2024. Entertainment Tonight asked him about it at the Dune: Part Two London premiere. 'It was legendary,' he said. 'It was amazing. I loved getting to see that. What an exciting cover. I loved it.'
Gerber and Butler might not have said much about each other, but they were very affectionate during their public appearances. They notably kissed at a screening of Elvis during the Cannes Film Festival:
