Why Gymshark x Leana Deeb's 'modest gymwear' launch is a historic move
Everybody wants to feel their most confident when they hit the gym, so Gymshark's game-changing collaboration with influencer and trainer Leana Deeb is one for the history books.
For the millions of women out there who dress modestly, it can be near impossible to find activewear that fits into their lifestyle and make them feeling truly comfortable when they hit the gym.
According to the brand's recent study, '84% of the 13,147 respondents reported challenges in finding modest clothing that [met] their needs, and 78% resort to shopping in the men's section for better options,' with a staggering 3 in 5 respondents avoiding the gym altogether.
So, they teamed up with Leana Deeb, who has an impressive following of over 18 million, to create a line of modest gym clothes – from hijabs to joggers, tunics to abayas – in order to create a diverse, inclusive and stylish collection to fill the gap.
As a hijabi herself, Leana's passion for the project shines through.
'Millions of women across the globe both dress modestly and love training, myself included,' she said. 'I hope this collection gives women who dress modestly the confidence and style they need to achieve their fitness goals.'
The collection was thoughtfully created with lightweight materials and ergonomic designs to allow maximum freedom of movement with additions like thumbholes, side slits and storage pockets throughout the pieces.
