When The White Lotus season one dropped on HBO and NOW, viewers flocked to social media to call it "fabulous", "iconic" and "binge-watchable." Seriously, it was SO. GOOD.

The good news is a second series has already been confirmed, and The White Lotus will officially get a follow up. Here's everything else you need to know.

Who will star in The White Lotus season 2?

Speaking to IndieWire, creator Mike White explained there would unlikely be any repeat guests from season one. "I don’t think you can credibly have [all the Season 1 guests] on the same vacation again," he said. "But maybe it could be a Marvel universe type thing, where some of them would come back."

Alexandra Daddario who plays Rachel, said something similar, adding, "I don’t know much about [season two], but the way TV is now with anthology shows…I do think there’s always a way."

Which is why it makes sense, then, that the first characters to be announced for The White Lotus season two is a completely new face. Michael Imperioli, aka Christopher Moltisanti in The Sopranos, will play Dominic Di Grasso, a man travelling with his elderly father and recent college graduate son.

Parks and Recreation's Aubrey Plaza was also announced to be joining the cast, playing a woman who is holidaying with family and friends named Harper Spiller.

TV Line reports that The King's Man star Tom Hollander has also been cast in the series, alongside Split's Haley Lu Richardson, Oscar winner and Mythic Quest actor F Murray Abraham and Adam DiMarco from Magicians.

According to Deadline, Jennifer Coolidge could return as alcoholic Tanya, which was basically all but confirmed by Imperioli tagging her in his announcement post. Inteeeresting.

As of February 2022 The White Lotus has just added *four* more characters to the cast and they're all pretty exciting.

Amid rumours of jone cast member returning to reprise their role, (Jennifer Coolidge, we hope) newcomer Leo Woodall was announced to be joining the series as a "magnetic guest." Meanwhile Divergent's Theo James has also been announced as a new addition to season 2, along with The Bold Type's Meghann Fahy. According to Deadline, she'll be playing Daphne Babcock, who is vacationing with her husband Cameron (James) and another couple. Exciting!

When was The White Lotus season 2 confirmed?

Announcing the follow-on series in August 2021, HBO said: “The next chapter of The White Lotus leaves Hawaii behind and follows a different group of vacationers as they jet to another White Lotus property and settle in temporarily amongst its inhabitants.”

What could happen in The White Lotus season 2?

As HBO's statement revealed, there's likely to be a change of location. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "It would have to be a different hotel, like, say, ‘The White Lotus: San Tropez’ or something," or even White Lotus: Kyoto, “which would be fun too, because we could get into culture clash ideas and stuff like that.”

What is The White Lotus about?

Written by Mike White, who also worked on School Of Rock and Pitch Perfect 3, The White Lotus is a comedy-drama that centres around the entitled guests and exhausted staff at a luxurious hotel in Hawaii.

Season one's brilliant cast included Jennifer Coolidge from Legally Blonde, Sydney Sweeney from Euphoria and the likes of Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton and Alexandra Daddario.

When will The White Lotus season 2 be released?

Judging by the fact the first series has only just come out, and the second series was recently confirmed, it doesn't look like the production has started. Producers haven't even picked a new location, so it's unlikely we can expect anything in the next year. Damn.

Regardless, we're excited for this.
