We're shopping Anne Hathaway's swimsuit in The Idea of You ready for bikini szn
Having eagerly counted down the days until The Idea of You was finally able to stream on Amazon Prime, we wasted no time in sitting down to watch it. And watch it again. From the plot centring on an age gap romance to the intimate sex scenes and the inevitable August Moon One Direction comparisons, it's quickly become one of our favourite films of the year, so far.
But we don't think it's a controversial opinion to say the best part of the film is *easily* Anne Hathaway's outfits. We're talking effortless boho vibes in her cute festival outfits at Coachella, the French Girl chic aesthetic her character Solène adopts to tour around Europe with the band, plus her tailored luxury attire that comprises her workwear wardrobe for her job as an art gallery owner.
And one item in particular that caught our eye was the floral swimsuit Anne dons to lounge poolside. Remember the scene?
Costume designer Jacqueline Demeterio revealed her thought process behind the swimsuit in an interview with Elle, saying, "She is trying to decide [on a swimsuit], and then she looks out the window and sees all of the young girls and they’re in their thongs. It’s everything that she doesn’t wear. So, all of a sudden, as confident as a woman as she is—and I feel like this happens to all of us—you have these moments where you all of a sudden feel insecure and something can just set you off. I think she has that moment of insecurity and also like, what am I doing here? So, she chose that Camilla one-piece bathing suit."
Specifically, the Plumes and Parterres one piece from Australian swimwear brand Camilla. Featuring ruched underwired cups, crystal embellishment along the bust and covered in a delicate floral print, the swimsuit is a seriously chic choice. And it's currently still in stock in every size, should you want to steal Anne's style.
The swimsuit is only glimpsed for a few seconds before Anne, in her crisis of confidence, throws a Valentino chambray denim Kaftan on top, accessoring with a Ralph Lauren straw sunhat, Celine cat-eye sunglasses and a floral print square scarf, also from Camilla.
Well, that's our bikini szn outfit sorted. We can't promise it will catch Nicholas Galitzine's attention but it's worth a try, right?!
