Welsh TikTokers take America by storm as 800,000 people watch them eat food at Disney World
A group of friends, virally known as the "Welsh 5" are taking over the sunshine state, following the success of their first American trip in New York. Over the last ten days, content creators: Charly Anne, Ieuan Jones, Kane Hinge, Cory (of Cory's World) and Lea (Charlotte), have been exploring everything that Orlando, Florida, has to offer.
The Welsh 5 made waves in December, 2024, during a holiday in the Big Apple: checking out tourist spots and major food chains from Chick-fil-A to Liberty Bagels. This time round, viewers have watched on as the group visit Disney World and Universal; bringing back their popular segment of "what we eat in a day" and insane shopping hauls.
One of Charly's most recent videos, titled "Biggest Maccies in the World" has already garnered 1.8 million views. The group ventured into the fast food chain, immediately unimpressed. However, her disappointment quickly disappeared when she looked at the menu and noticed that both pizza and pasta was available. "I'm gonna have to get passie [pasta], what the frig frog!" It was later revealed that each member of the group had spent over fifty dollars each, in a review of the eclectic menu.
The popularity of the Welsh 5 is undeniable, with the influencers set to face major milestones during their two week stint. Charly Anne (@charlyannec) has already surpassed the 800k follower mark during the trip, while Ieuan Jones (@ieuanjoness) is now on course to reach one million followers. Combined, the five have over three million subscribers.
Their presence has not gone unnoticed by their American fans. Notably, Katie Molinaro, known as "EAT IT KATIE" on TikTok, who currently boasts 1.8m followers, shared that she and her friend were on the hunt to find the Welsh 5. In a recent video, Katie shared her excitement, stating: "We know for a fact that the Welsh 5 are in Orlando, right now." Her friend then added: "We are begging them to come and drink around the world with us in Epcot".
The hunt for the Welsh 5 has become a theme, as fellow American and TikTok user, pocket pauli (@pocketpauli), said: "I just found out that Charly Anne, the Welsh 5, I think they're called - are in Florida at the same time as I am! I'm at Disney World right now, so if I could just manifest one thing, it would be to see them. I just wanna hear them be like, 'hev', 'so lush', so I really hope I see them."
Americans have praised the Welsh influencers' content, with one viewer, Patrick Mazuca, @patrickmazuca, saying: "I love watching the Welsh 5 and seeing them travel around the US and try all our food chains and just do those crazy eating day videos. They're so much fun." Internet sensation, Trisha Paytas - @trishapaytas, also openly expressed her love, commenting on one of the Five's videos: "I would do anything to be in this friendship group."
The Five (along with their newest addition, Emily Temby) will now be taking on Miami, so for now it is, watch this space.
