Being invited to a wedding is a real honour - and even more so if the bride and groom are happy and able to afford for you to bring a plus one of your own choice.

However, a guest has been criticised for RSVP’ing to a couple’s big day for their partner - plus 21 extra people.

This is despite being explicitly told they could only bring one person.

They returned the invitation by post, and the shocked bride-to-be took a photo of their requests before sharing it online.

In the picture, the guest and their plus one - who have their names scribbled out - have asked to have at least 14 adults as well as numerous children and babies.

On the RSVP, guests were also asked to request a song to be played during the reception - and, fittingly, they asked for two.

It is unclear when or where the wedding is due to be held or how the guest knows the betrothed, but the deadline to respond to the invite was 21st August.

The image was then posted on Reddit where users were left baffled by the “audacity” of the guest.

One person wrote: “I would circle ‘decline’ and send it back.”

Another commented: “That’s when you call them and say ‘sorry you couldn’t make it!’”

A third shared: “The next thing this person would receive would be a call telling them to not bother.

“Sure, you could just clarify that the others can’t come, but then you risk them sulking about it the whole wedding.

“Better to just avoid this mess altogether.”

And a fourth added: “I'm so shocked, that's all I have. Just...the audacity of some people. Why would they think this is ok??”

It is unclear whether the bride accepted their RSVP or not...
