Vanessa Feltz takes thinly-veiled swipe at ex Ben Ofoedu as he's all smiles with new girlfriend
Vanessa Feltz has taken a thinly-veiled swipe at her ex-fiancé Ben Ofoedu, during an appearance on This Morning.
Longtime TV star Vanessa, 62, announced her split from partner of 16 years, Ben, 51, in February 2023, and it appears there is no love lost between the pair. Ben has since moved on with TV star Precious Muir, 33, who he's reportedly said to be intent on marrying.
Vanessa and Ben have exchanged various barbs against each other since their split, and during a chat on This Morning on Wednesday, 10 April, she appeared to take another swipe at her ex.
As she and Tom Swarbrick discussed topics with show hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, they spoke about ways to deal with anger, as Tom suggested 'cathartic swearing'. Vanessa then said: "I take it out on the weeds in the garden. Go and absolutely, ferociously attack the weeds."
Dermot then interjected cheekily: "That's no way to speak about your exes," as Vanessa replied: "Well I...you know. Yes."
Going back to her suggestion for taking out anger, Vanessa said: "Have a good go with the rake and the hoe," before she quipped: "The nice kind of hoe," as everyone burst out laughing.
She continued: "And that way, you've got a beautiful garden that's pristine. You've taken out all of your anger." Tom then asked her: "What's the wrong kind of hoe?" as Vanessa responded: "Don't go there, please. You're already in trouble today."
The news of Ben's apparent plan to marry his new girlfriend, Precious, could be a source of contention for Vanessa, who split from Ben after she found out that he was unfaithful.
A source told The Mirror, that at recent London party: "Ben was very open about the fact he is planning to wed Precious and soon. He gave the air of being as pleased as punch. It was a surprise given the length of time they've been together, but they both seemed very happy."
Vanessa, who is famous on TV and radio, met Ben in 2005 and they planned to get married in 2006. Just two months after breaking up with Vanessa, Ben started seeing Precious, who was on The Circle on Channel 4.
Appearing on This Morning on Tuesday, 5 March with agony aunt Deidre Sanders, Vanessa spoke about cheating from her "bitter experience". She admitted it can be "very hard" to "throw away" a relationship but told how sometimes it's the best option.
The TV star said: "It's very, very, hard to throw away a long-term relationship when there's cheating involved. If you love them, if you're in love with them, and you really feel that they are your person, whatever you find or discover is going to be hard, but sometimes it can work out.
"If you decide to carry on and try again though, it's all about how hard the person who cheated tries and whether they really throw themselves into rebuilding your trust - that's the most crucial thing. What often happens - and I do speak from rather bitter experience here - the other person gets bored with it."
