The Traitors star breaks silence after viewers said she was 'robbed' after finale twist

The Traitors ended on Friday night (January 24) as Faithfuls Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown were crowned the winners, splitting the massive £94,600 prize money.

However, fans at home weren't happy with the outcome and said Traitor Charlotte Berman was "robbed" from winning.

Now Charlotte has broken her silence as she told MailOnline: "The tears and the emotion was so real. I felt like I was in the stickiest spot imaginable, but I owed it to the Traitors and I owed it to the game to keep going.

"So I was despairing and crying a lot, but I really tried to keep playing. It was really, really tough, really, really tough.

"That's why I find it really hard to watch because it actually brings back how tough it was to do as well."

Charlotte was the only Traitor left in the game after turning on Minah, who had previously recruited her and Freddie, who she herself recruited with the intent of using him to secure her place in the final.

The final episode began with the 'Seer Twist' which meant the winner from the challenge previously in the day was able to find out who the Traitor was.

Winner Francesca chose best friend Charlotte and was horrified to find out that the person she was closest to had been deceiving her.

Much of the episode saw the two women turn on each other as they attempted to get the other three contestants to take their side.

At the roundtable, all four contestants voted Charlotte as a Traitor and she was banished from the castle.

Viewers at home were left unhappy as they thought the twist was only in favour of the Faithfuls and Charlotte should have won.

One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Charlotte is genuinely the most legendary player the show has seen.

"Fiercely intelligent, utterly ruthless and delightfully charming, she played it the way Traitors should: COLD. Ultimately robbed by the power of the Seer, my head still bows to her #TheTraitors."

Another viewer penned: "Don't bother bringing back the Seer next year #TheTraitorsUK, completely robbed Charlotte of the W there."

Somebody else said: "Ahh, I can't believe Charlotte got s*****d over by the twist. I hate this so much, she was such a good Traitor. Justice for Charlotte #TheTraitorsUK."
