Is The Traitors’ Charlotte the show’s most brutal player in the show’s history?
The Traitors, a popular reality TV show on BBC One, is almost over and new traitor Charlotte is taking the game by storm and making it her own. Although she was only recruited as a traitor recently, Charlotte has been lying from the start of the game by putting on a fake Welsh accent.
While this baffled fans at first, with Charlotte claiming her reasoning was because the Welsh accent is the most trustworthy, she has proven us all wrong and it has clearly been a success for her as, for the most part, she has evaded suspicion since the very first week. Now, in a stunningly crafty move Charlotte has recruited Freddie and before he even accepted the offer knew exactly why and what her next two or three steps in her gameplan were, due to the 20-year-old politics student from Peterborough often piquing Faithful's interest at round table discussions.
Charlotte's rise to being the most brutal traitor in the show's history has been a quick one, she was recruited by Minah pretty late into the show. While Minah beamed from ear to ear and told the camera that she had ultimate trust in Charlotte and couldn't wait to make it to the final together, Charlotte was already warning viewers she didn't trust Minah and plotting her own success.

This came to a head on Wednesday, January 23 when just two episodes before the final, Charlotte savagely voted Minah out of the show in perhaps the best round table of the series. She then recruited Freddie, who hilariously didn't know what to do with himself, and the episode ended with Charlotte trying to convince Freddie they should murder Leanne.
While this may seem innocent, Charlotte knows that Leanne has a shield, which of course means she can't be murdered. Leanne only shared this information with Charlotte, Frankie and Jake, choosing not to tell Alexander or Freddie, so when the murder ultimately fails eyes are likely to turn to Freddie.
This incredibly crafty scheming from Charlotte arguably makes her the show's most ruthless traitor. While last year both Harry Clark and Paul Gorton were very good, with Paul being particularly savage in the turrett and Harry's exquisite performance as a geniuine faithful saw him go under the radar so much he actually won the show, Charlotte just has that edge.
From lying from the start, with her fake accent which everyone mocked, to sitting there while faithfuls tell her they have no doubt in their hearts she is a faithful and nodding along, to throwing first Minah under the bus and quickly plotting Freddie's demise within minutes of recruiting him, Charlotte is just a step above the others.
The biggest question, which is yet to be answered, is will Charlotte's savage streak take her all the way to the final? Or will she push the lies too far and expose who she is? Will Freddie surprise us all and catch onto Charlotte's plan to sacrifice him? Who knows, but it's going to be some of the most watchable TV of the year, any way.
