The Traitors 2024 finalist Andrew Jenkins' verdict on Charlotte's Welsh accent
The Traitors 2024 finalist Andrew Jenkins has shared his verdict on Charlotte's fake Welsh accent. The former Traitor from the second series, who is originally from Talbot Green in Rhondda Cynon Taf, described Charlotte's fake Abergavenny accent as "terrible", and claimed that he knew "straight away" that she wasn't Welsh.
While talking on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio on Wednesday morning, January 22, the Welsh reality TV star and Chris Evans discussed CarFest, mental health and the latest series of The Traitors. The third series, which concludes on Friday evening, January 24, has seen London business director Charlotte adopt a fake Welsh lilt as part of her game plan to come across "more trustworthy" to her fellow players.
When asked what he thought about the accent on the radio show, Andrew said: "Personally, I think the accent is terrible. I could tell straight away there was something with her and that she wasn't Welsh." As Chris Evans pointed out there were many different accents within Wales, he noted that Andrew reminded him of former Welsh rugby player Scott Quinnell, and asked if they came from the same area. In response, the former Traitor said: "Not too far from Scott - Scott is from west Wales and I'm from just by Cardiff, not that far from Cardiff, while Scott is a bit further west Wales." The Welshman made it to the final five of series two alongside Evie Morrison, Jaz Singh, Mollie Pearce, and Harry Clark, with the latter winning the £95,000 cash pot.
This year, the final five are Francesca, Charlotte, Alexander, Jake and Leanne, with Charlotte being the last Traitor standing. But in this year's series, once players are banished in the final they will no longer reveal if they are a faithful or a traitor. You can read more on what to expect in the finale here.
The final episode of the third series of The Traitors will be aired at 8.30pm on BBC One on Friday evening, January 24, and also on BBC iPlayer.
