Timothée Chalamet may not have been up for an award at the 2020 Oscars but that didn’t stop social media users from predicting what the actor’s next winning role could be.

At the star-studded ceremony, Chalamet eschewed red carpet tradition in a high fashion tracksuit by Prada accessorised with a vintage Cartier Tradition brooch dating back to 1950.

But the surprising sartorial move soon sparked a myriad of memes, as some Twitter users compared his zip-up look to a valet driver’s uniform.

“This is so insulting,” one viewer tweeted. “I know Timothée Chalamet is not nominated but it is wrong to make him do valet parking.”

Another joked, “Willing to bet at least 10 people at the after-party will ask Timothée Chalamet to bring their Tesla around.”

“Timothée Chalamet looks like a valet who parked Cinderella’s carriage?” a third chimed in.

Other alternate career paths thrust into the social media sphere included “working in the pit” for Formula One.

While some Twitter users thought the actor’s look was inspired by everything from a “well-dressed paramedic” to a petrol station manager.

Despite his latest look dividing viewers, Chalamet, who famously styles himself, recently came out on top in GQ’s annual Best Dressed Men Of The Year - an impressive feat with the likes of Brad Pitt and David Beckham making the list.
