Dubai is famed for being an extravagant holiday destination. The city is well-known for its luxury shopping, lavish hotels and for being home to the world’s tallest building. But soon it will take its reputation as a glamorous tourist location to a whole new level.

In 2018, Dubai will be home to the world’s first hotel to contain an actual rainforest.

The Rosemont Hotel & Residences is reportedly going to cost £230million to construct and will also house an artificial beach (to make up for the lack of real ones in the city, of course).

Design images by ZAS Architects show the massive scale of the ambitious project.

The 75,000 square foot rainforest will contain exotic plants and even trees that spray mist.

The complex, which will be run by Hilton brand Curio, will consist of two 47-storey towers and a five-floor podium (located at their base) which will house the artificial jungle. One of the buildings will also feature a swimming pool on an upper floor that extends past the edge of the tower.

Families will be welcome at the hotel, which will also offer a trampoline park and a bowling alley.
