If you're on social media — namely TikTok— you might have heard of the Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Stain Peel Off Masque. Available in several shades, this lip stain has garnered a ton of attention because of its blue tint.
Now, if you haven't seen this product in action — once the blue mask is peeled away, it's supposed to reveal a long-lasting (not blue!) lip stain. However, like many viral beauty products, I was left wondering if it's actually any good, or if it's just a hyped-up product that falls short of expectations.

Wonderskin's Lip Stain Peel Off Masque has gone viral for its blue colour, which after application is then wiped away to reveal the product's true colour stain. If you're after a bolder look, just re-apply the product, let it set, and wipe it away again to reveal your desired finish.
At the end of the day, the product description claims it can be easily wiped off with any oil-based makeup remover.
First impressions
As a self-proclaimed lip product enthusiast, I was excited to put this viral beauty product to the test.
I've seen social media users apply the Wonderskin Lip Stain Peel Off Masque as both a lip stain and a lip liner. For this review, I decided to use it as an all-over lip stain.
The shade I tried is called XOXO, which is part of the Fresh Tint-Sheer Colour range. There are also other shades available offering more nude/natural results, or bold, deep results.
Wonderskin lip stain review
One thing to note is the difference in wait time between the product packaging and the product description page.
The packaging says to apply the lip stain mask evenly across the lips and wait one minute, or until dry, to wipe it away with a damp cloth, revealing the stain colour. On Amazon, it's recommended to let the lip stain mask set for only 10 to 30 seconds.
I ended up following the product's packaging and let the lip stain sit for a minute.

I tried to apply the lip stain mask evenly, but it was a bit difficult because the formula is more clumpy than I expected.
It's also worth calling out that the mask felt mildly uncomfortable when first applied. I experienced a slight tingling sensation that I wasn't expecting. That said, I did keep it on for a full minute. If you have sensitive lips, I'd suggest starting with a 30-second application.
After a full minute (when the lip stain started to feel dry), I wiped it away with a damp cloth.
I was pleasantly surprised with the results after a single application — I was left with a "my lips but better "shade, which I love. This is definitely a lip colour I would rock as is on a daily basis, or with a lip liner and gloss when going out.
My lips also did not feel dry or look patchy once the product was removed, despite it feeling dry and looking patchy while it was setting on my lips.
I wore the product all day and was also pleasantly surprised by how long-lasting it was.

Wonderskin lip stain: Is it worth it?
Personally, I think this under-$30 beauty product is worth the hype. But that said, there are a few key points to keep in mind.
For the price, this lip stain is an affordable Amazon find that performs extremely well if you're after a long-lasting lip colour that doesn't budge or fade. I also love how easy this product is to use — simply apply, remove and go!
Some lip stains can feel quite drying. However, I found the Wonderskin Lip Stain Peel Off Masque to be rather hydrating, which was a pleasant surprise. This makes it great for year-round use, as well.
However, the product can be messy to apply and some might experience a slight tingling or burning sensation as the product is setting on your lips. I didn't find this to be a major turn-off because the product is only meant to sit on your lips for a minute or less. Once it's removed, the tingling sensation subsides, and you're left with a beautiful, streak-free natural lip stain.
