The Rules Of Modern Dating According To Brits

Dating rules are pretty complex nowadays, especially thanks to a little thing called the internet.

And according to new research, the dos and don’ts of dating have a lot to do with Facebook, texting and messaging.

The study, commissioned by TLC’s Undressed, found that brits believe men should be the ones to first send a text after a successful first meeting, and that women should respond within a quarter of an hour if keen.

And when making contact, a maximum of two kisses is all that is required. Any more, and the potential love interest may be put off. Any less, and you’re in danger of seeming cold.

The survey of 1,500 brits revealed we think that a kiss at the end of a good first date is acceptable, but more likely to happen after the second.

When it comes to deciding when to go back to their place, three is apparently the magic number - though one in 10 said they’d need at least 10 dates for it to be a consideration.

Good news for keen texters too - a third of people reckon they text back within a quarter of an hour, with just 5% saying they’d wait as long as two hours.
