At this point, most people are ready for a holiday. With domestic travel set to be allowed from 12 April in England, our vacation dreams could be a reality soon enough.
In fact, new data from Tripadvisor has found that one in five of us is planning a trip as early as spring (between April and 31 May).
It also found that, following the government’s roadmap announcement in February, British travellers searching for holidays was up by 97% month-on-month and UK staycation searches were up by 107% month-on-month too.
Tripadvisor also found there was a divide in which locations people were searching for, with 60% of us looking for domestic holidays while 40% were looking at international destinations.
To help fuel our wanderlust, Tripadvisor has released its top 10 most searched-for destinations, which have seen the biggest year-on-year increase in interest.
The Isle of Skye’s capital of Portree nabbed the top spot in the UK, followed by Newquay in Cornwall, Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria and Torquay in Devon.
