What's so special about the Origin Hybrid Pro Mattress?
Where to start! A medium firm mattress, it contains nine different layers to make it feel like you're sleeping on a cloud. Underneath the cool-to-touch Tencel pillowtop, there are over 5,700 springs, which are zoned to help your body achieve optimal alignment. There are also layers of bamboo-infused wool and latex for breathability and temperature regulation, and a pressure-relieving 'HexaGrid' foam layer.
The mattress has a high density foam outer layer too, so it's supportive even at the edges, and it's designed to absorb the impact of movement – so you shouldn't notice your partner tossing and turning at night.
There's a 200-night trial and a 15-year warranty for added peace of mind. But given that it's developed in partnership with orthopaedic experts, you probably won't need it. And if you do, the company has decent sustainability claims, including a circular partnership with the British Heart Foundation, where all returned mattresses are donated.
The Good Housekeeping Institute verdict on the Origin Hybrid Pro

A lot goes into testing mattresses at the Good Housekeeping Institute; at least four people sleep on each mattress for at least six weeks before telling us about their experiences – detailing everything from delivery and comfort, to breathability and any impact on back pain.
We also survey our readers to find out how mattress brands perform over time. Every survey respondent must have owned theirs for at least six months – so far, we've heard from nearly 4,000 readers about their sleep set-ups.
So what was the verdict on the Origin Hybrid Pro? Well, unsurprisingly given it's high score of 90 out of 100, it received rave reviews. Testers were impressed with its breathability, with some seeing a reduction in night sweats. We also received lots of comments about how quiet it is – it didn't make a peep when testers moved around at night.
It's comfortable and supportive too, but while it has a medium firm rating, some noted that it still felt a little soft, which meant it took some adjustment. That's normal for new mattresses though, and nearly everyone said they were happy with their Origin mattress over time.
