Simba Hybrid Pro review: 'I tested the Simba Hybrid Pro Mattress for six months and it revolutionised my sleep'
For a cloud-like sleep, Simba’s popular Hybrid Pro Mattress is arguably one of the top players in the game. Thanks to its clever combination of support and sink-in comfort, the mattress makes it easier than ever to get a good night's sleep.
Good sleep is easily the most important element of wellbeing; there’s not much point in perfecting a schedule of workouts combined with nutritious food if you’re not making time to rest and recover. But of course, for most of us, good sleep isn’t as easily as achievable as we’d like thanks to chaotic schedules, irregular sleeping patterns or an uncomfortable bed.
I, unfortunately, fell into the latter category. As someone who sleeps on their side (I know, I know, it’s not the best for my back health) my previous mattress wasn’t offering the support I needed. It sank in the wrong places and stuck out in the others, so it was high time for an upgrade.

As a twenty-something who has never had to buy a mattress before, the search for my new mattress was a little overwhelming. The mattress world is *not* as simple as you might think, and with so many options promising stress-free slumber finding the one for me was proving difficult. My colleague had tried the Simba Hybrid Luxe and said it was amazing, so I knew Simba was the brand I should be looking at.
Enter, the Simba Hybrid Pro Mattress. With thousands of reviews praising Simba for improving the quality of their sleep - with some even going as far to say that they were no longer experiencing lower back pain - I landed on this one to try for myself.

How we tested the Simba Hybrid Pro Mattress
Jess Bantleman, social media manager at Women's Health, tested out the Simba Hybrid Pro over the course of six months before she put together this review. She made note of the brand's claims, such as being breathable, offering medium-firm support and supporting body alignment and pressure relief, and concluded whether or not the Hybrid Pro is worth the investment.
What is the Simba Hybrid Pro Mattress?
The Simba Hybrid Pro Mattress is a step up from the brand’s original mattress design, resulting in a hybrid pocket spring, foam and memory foam model. The mattress cover is breathable, and hypoallergenic and can be removed to clean.
The brand is known for what it calls Simbatex® foam, which feels similar to memory foam with the added temperature-control benefits. Simba describes it as ‘open cell’ foam, which allows thirty times the airflow of memory foam to prevent overheating during the night.

There are up to 4000 Aerocoil springs in each mattress which Simba says gives you the support you need and keeps your body in a comfortable position, whilst ensuring you won’t feel a single one.
How does it arrive?
I was a bit concerned with how the mattress would be delivered and how easy it would be to unpack but despite testing a king size mattress, the box was manageable in size, so could be easily transported upstairs. It is heavy though so carrying it was a two person job. It arrived rolled and vacuum-packed, and after following the instructions to unwrap and let inflate naturally it was ready to be used within a few hours.
Is the Simba Hybrid Pro Mattress comfortable?
The Simbatex® foam really does sculpts to your body shape, and on the first night, offered good support in places that often suffer, such as the hips, knees or lower back.
As someone who gravitates towards anything soft and cosy, i was worried that the firmness of the mattress would be an issue, as the official firmness rating is medium-firm (Simba’s score is 6.5/10), but, it was actually a perfect combination to sleep on. Your body sinks into the surface, but only enough to feel supported from top to toe. I didn’t notice any overheating in the warmer months, and when the temperature dropped the mattress retained enough heat to keep warm.
Six months on and the mattress has retained its shape on both sides of the bed, and if anything my sleep is even better now and fits around my ideal sleeping position. It's firm enough still to sit up comfortably in, and soft enough to fall asleep quickly and comfortably. I have no doubt that come summer, the mattress will be a dream to sleep in, thanks to the temperature regulation, and sweaty slumbers will be a thing of the past.
