The engagement was sweetly confirmed by none other than Matty's mum, Denise Welch, a familiar face on ' Loose Women', during the show's Wednesday (June 12) episode.
The lovebirds couldn't wait to share their joy with fans, taking to social media with a series of snaps showcasing Gabriette's unique engagement ring with a striking large black diamond. Denise, sharing the excitement on ITV, spilled the beans about the custom-made ring, revealing that her son splashed out on the 'extremely rare' gem.
Denise shared with the viewers: "I have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged. They went over to see their friends Charli and George in New York. I woke up this morning to the fact they've put it on Instagram."
Gabriette flaunted the bespoke ring on her left hand in an Instagram post, cheekily captioning it: "Marrying The 1975 is very brat."
She made sure to give a shoutout to her fiance, tagging his handle, Trumanblack, reports Wales Online. The unconventional ring has sparked quite the conversation online, with opinions split over its distinctive look.
On Twitter, a user named Arthur expressed admiration, tweeting: "I think Matty Healy engagement ring to her lady is beautiful."
