Taylor Swift is the face of British Vogue’s January 2018 cover and the issue marks her first editorial since the release of critically acclaimed album, ‘Reputation’.

The songstress stars in a red, studded Saint Laurent dress for editor Edward Enninful‘s second issue. And the cover was shot by the very photographers responsible for her latest album artwork, Mert and Marcus.

Decked in black lipstick courtesy of make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench, the singer’s newfound ‘I can’t come to the phone right now’ aesthetic is further explored in the 12-page spread.

But most interestingly, the 27-year-old decided against the traditional interview and instead wrote a poem for the publication on the subject of ‘reinvention and moving on’.

Enninful explained: “Taylor is acutely aware of her following and how she communicates with young women, and will never portray a character that would send the wrong message. Taylor says she has never seen herself transformed like this before, and I was very touched to see how emotional she was at the end of our shoot day in London.”

And it seems the singer is just as pleased with the shoot, as she took to Instagram to share the news.

The 27-year-old wrote, “Thank you Edward Enninful and Mert and Marcus for your passion, spirit and contagious laughter on set. Mert and Marcus took these photos for British Vogue and my album photos for ‘Reputation’, and it’s been such a bonding experience working together so closely and talking so much about what we wanted to make.”

Deep blue, but you painted me golden.

She continued: “It’s been a while since I’ve done a magazine cover. I’m really happy my first one back was with such wonderful people.”
