The long legs, the on-trend lob, the perfected pout. You’d think constantly getting mistaken for Taylor Swift would be downright amazing. I mean who wouldn’t want to look like the super songstress? But for Keitra Jane, being a dead ringer for pop’s first lady has come at a price. For though the 21-year-old has been garnering thousands of Instagram followers thanks to her uncanny resemblance to the ‘Shake it Off’ singer. On the flipside she’s also been on the wrong end of one of the darker side of fame – being the target of online trolls.

Keitra says people started making fun of her after she starred in Alex Boye’s music video for the song, African Hipster, leaving hateful messages in the comments section under her Instagram photos.

“My friends kept sending me photos of these comments that would say just inappropriate things like ‘Taylor with a bigger rack/boobs.’ One comment caught my eye. It said 'a fatter Taylor Swift,’“ Keitra told Seventeen magazine. "I’ve always been taller than most of my peers, but being called fat just hurt.”

But the psychology student from Utah isn’t going to let a few online bullies get her down. Heck, no! In fact, she’s using her new found ‘fame’ to help support other women with body issues. Having suffered from body dysmorphia in high school, she decided to stand up to the haters, Taylor Swift style. Reposting the overweight comment, she added her own powerful message…

“Internet bullying contributes to disordered eating. People need to understand that nothing on the internet goes unnoticed, and when you publicize your comments or suggestions you aren’t just writing on a wall, you’re writing to a real person.”

“This is just one of millions of hurtful comments that are given to REAL people every day. This isn’t a sympathy post, this is information,” she continued. “You need to know that words have power to do harm or promote positivity. Use your power for good! #NEDA @centerforchange #nedaawareness #loveyourbody #healthybodyhealthylife.”
