Woman asks makeup artist sitting next to her on plane to do her makeup, and she does: ‘Oh how I love being a woman’

A makeup artist bonded with her seatmate after she was asked to do her makeup in flight.

On June 24, Sabrina Hassan (@sabrinaahassann), a 23-year-old makeup and fashion creator, shared a video on TikTok in which she’s seen doing the makeup of Linda, the woman sitting next to her on an airplane.

“So this is how you know that the worst somebody can say is no, because I asked her if she would do my makeup and she said yes,” Linda says as Hassan continues to apply products. “So all you have to do is ask people. You don’t get anything that you didn’t ask for.”

“She’s an Instagram makeup artist,” she then tells a flight attendant as she walks by. “So I made her do my makeup.”

Linda enthusiastically looks at Hassan’s progress.

“Healthier already,” she says, to which Hassan replies, “Stop, you’re already healthy. You need to tell yourself that.”

After Hassan sprays setting spray to lock in the look, Linda takes in her makeover.

“That’s the first time I ever got makeup sprayed,” she reveals. “I’ve seen it on Instagram. I’m so excited.”

Hassan’s impromptu interaction with her seatmate is telling of the power of makeup, and the ways in which it can not only connect people but also provide a boost of confidence and serotonin.

“By cultivating different looks, blending, mixing, and experimenting, you can practice creativity and art, which are often much-needed and encouraged past-times for those struggling with mental health,” Temimah Zucker, a licensed master social worker, told Insider of how beauty and self-care can enhance one’s emotional well-being.

‘i’m literally tearing up. girls supporting girls always’

Just three days after being posted, Hassan’s wholesome video has more than 4.3 million views and 1 million likes. Many commenters are inspired by the women’s sweet interaction and how authentic their bond seems to be.

“Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww she was so excited. I love gen z when it comes to their interaction with older generations,” @mariaolayw wrote.

“i’m literally tearing up. girls supporting girls always,” @itsalexissimone replied.

“Oh how I love being a woman,” @sibbyfaith commented.

Hassan had no idea she’d receive so much love for the video.

“I just posted the video because I wanted to remember the moment forever. I want to show my followers on my TikTok a beautiful interaction with two strangers,” she told In The Know by Yahoo via email. “And now the video has like 4 million views and I’m just so shocked at how big is gotten but it really shows you good people are everywhere.”

Her experience with Linda is one she’ll always remember.

Added Hassan, “Not everything sucks on [an] airplane sometimes you can get your make up done on the plane by stranger you never met. I’m really grateful for this moment because I got to meet a beautiful soul. Linda is someone everybody needs to meet I feel like she brought the whole row on the airplane together and made everybody laugh the whole plane ride she’s truly someone I’ll never forget.”
