Strictly's Katya Jones shares Wynne Evans' touching reaction to Chris McCausland win
Strictly professional Katya Jones has shared a special behind the scenes insight into the relationship between Welsh opera singer Wynne Evans, best known for starring in the GoCompare adverts, and comedian Chris McCausland. Chris made history on Saturday after winning the Strictly glitterball alongside his partner Dianne Buswell, after mesmerising audiences with his ability to learn dances without any visual aid.
All of the cast, except for Home Under the Hammer's Nick Knowles and footballer Paul Mercier, reunited to watch the magical moment when Chris and Dianne lifted the trophy after an emotional night. Chris' fellow finalists, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Skorjanec, Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola and JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, all celebrated as he and Dianne were announced as the champions.
Katya has shared that Wynne was also celebrating Chris' emotional win. Wynne and Katya became the eighth couple to leave the competition when Strictly made its way to Blackpool, after wowing the public with performances, including a routine in character as Mrs Doubtfire and an emotional rumba to Shirley Bassey's My Way, paying homage to his Welsh roots.

After Chris and Dianne's win on Saturday, Wynne already shared a snap of him and Chris to congratulate him and add that it had been an "honour" to perform on Strictly alongside him. Wynne said: "Congratulations to @chrismccauslandcomedy what an absolute legend on @bbcstrictly well done mate and what an honour to share this experience with you."
Following his win, Chris commented: “It’s astonishing, I don’t know what to say. I thought I would go out in the first week or two. We have lasted and lasted and she has got so much out of me, she deserves this so much.
“This is for her (Buswell) and for everyone out there who thought... who got told they couldn’t do something or thought they couldn’t do it. With opportunity and support and determination anything can happen.”
