Strictly's Chris McCausland reveals his 11 year old daughter's adorable reaction to his incredible win
Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland has revealed his daughter’s adorable reaction to his journey on the show and his incredible win. In his first TV interview, since lifting the famous Glitterball trophy this weekend, Chris joined Ranvir Singh on Lorraine to discuss how his 11 year-old daughter reacted to his journey. The much loved funnyman, 47, joked that his 11-year-old girl Sophie “threw things at the telly when Craig was on.”
He said: “She fed off my anxiety because I was terrified and I couldn’t really hide it that well, so she was nervous for me. The first show when we did the ‘Cha-cha-cha’, she was so nervous and as soon as we started dancing down the dancefloor, she burst out crying and she got better throughout the series and was able to enjoy it… She threw things at the telly when Craig was on. She calls him a ‘bum’ even after the final when he gave us 10s, she couldn’t believe the two eights.”
He also told The Telegraph that Sophie can't wait to get her hands on the famous trophy, saying: “She was more interested in when the trophy was coming home than when I was.”

The comedian and his professional dancer partner Dianne Buswell captivated the nation's hearts during their Strictly journey and made history when they won. Chris said “anything can happen” with support and determination after he became the first blind contestant to win the show.
The pair triumphed over tough competition from three other couples in what fans have hailed as one of the greatest Strictly finals of all time - including Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec, and JB Gill and Lauren Oakley. While Chris finished bottom of the leaderboard, he secured the public vote as hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman revealed him as this year's champion.
In tears when his name was announced, the comedian said: "It's astonishing. I don't know what to say - I honestly thought I would go out in the first week or two. I know no one went out the first week but I thought I could." Speaking about his partner Dianne, the star said: "She deserves this so much - she is positivity and belief."
"She's one of the easiest people to be funny with. This is for her and everyone who got told they could not do anything. It shows anything can happen, you know?"
Chris was praised by his fellow stars for inspiring "awe" and delivering the "best" final in the show's 20-year history. Doctor Who's Russell T Davies, former Strictly star Stacey Dooley, hosts Tess and Claudia, head judge Shirley Ballas, and pro Amy Dowden were among those congratulating Chris and his dance partner Dianne Buswell on Saturday night.
Disability charities including Sense, the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), Guide Dogs UK and Scope have all commended the Liverpool comedian for raising awareness of people living with disabilities. On Instagram, Davies described it as "the most amazing television", while Tess and Shirley expressed their "awe".
