Strictly's Ellie Leach says 'I'll always miss it' as she talks about returning to Coronation Street

Ex-Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach, 23, has addressed her future on the show during an episode of Drama Queens. On the ITVBe reality series that follows the lives of soap actresses, Ellie was chatting with fellow Corrie star Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt). The pair were together at an event held by Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster) for a launch of part of her business Oh So B, and were joined by Corrie legends including Sally Dynevor (Sally Metcalfe) and Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster).

Ellie left Coronation Street after 12 years of playing Faye Windass. In April 2023, it was announced that she had quit the role, with her final scenes airing the following month.

At the soap star-studded event, Lucy asked Ellie if she “missed” the show when being reunited with the cast at the event. Ellie went on to say: “I think I’ll always miss it because I grew up there.”

Lucy then remarked: “But you didn’t die. And even if you did die, you probably still could have come back anyway.”

Ellie replied: “Yeah, they always make it work, don’t they?”.

After her final scenes aired in May last year, Ellie didn’t stay out of the spotlight for long as she joined the 2023 line-up of Strictly Come Dancing and went on to win the show with her partner, Vito Coppola.

On episode one of Drama Queens, Ellie broke down to her mum about her ex-boyfriend’s betrayal.

Reading an email from her agent, Ellie said: "Hi, hope you are well, just wanted to know that Ellie Leach's ex has chatted to us. He's really nice about her, he also admits to cheating on her."

Visibly upset, Ellie told her mum: "It was just a shock, I was like what. It's weird because it, erm."

Ellie then began to cry, prompting her mum to comfort her. Ellie continued: "That article in particular kind of felt like all your dirty laundry is just like available for everyone to see. It's no reflection of who you are but it still feels embarrassing. It still feels like you've done something wrong when you haven't."
